SHELL

Specific case BRENT Bravo, Charlie and Delta

Shell operated the BRENT Bravo, Charlie and Delta platforms for 40 years.

One of the first GBS to be at the end of operation, they were partially dismantled. The upper platforms were dismantled and towed ashore.

The pillars and cells remain as they are for the time being, Shell and the European authorities are in discussions to decide the outcome of the dismantling.

They each have 300,000 m3 capacities for depths of 140 m. THE BRENT B,C and D are in direct proximity with wind farm projects. The capture of some of the electricity generated by wind farms will be converted to H2 and send to the pipeline networks or/and to the storage cells.

Let's convert BRENT B,C and D into H2 tanks to follow the transition to H2 rather than dismantle them generating 100 - 300 €M each of decommissioning costs and huge CO2 generation.

EQUINOR

Specific case of the HyWind Tampen project

EQUINOR has been working on offshore wind farms for a decade. In particular, it has distinguished itself by developing the first floating farm in operation since 2017: Project Hywind 5 x 6 MW.

The Hywind Tampen project (11x8 MW) located in theNorth Sea in the Norwegian maritime area, which operations started in 2022, supplies 5 oil platforms operated by Equinor

Among the 5 oil platforms mentioned above, Gullfaks A, B and C are GBS. They have storage volumes of 300,000 m 3 each. These 11 turbines will supply up to 40% of the annual energy, the rest being supplied by independent groups burning gas in the absence of wind.

Nature&People First and INNO BIOGAZ propose to develop a pilot project to strengthen the ENR autonomy of the 5 platforms. Wind turbines are added to the initial project and their energy is stored as hydrogen in one of Gullfaks’ cell.

TOTAL ENERGIES

Specific case Frigg TP1 et TCP2

TOTAL has operated FRIGG in UK for 30 years. Operation ended in 2004.

Partial decommissioning in 2009.

Feet platforms and cells are still in place

Gas pipeline in operation connected to St Fergus terminal.

10 ScotWind projects (E1-3 and NE1-7) are all around the gas pipeline.
